Wellness Wednesday

This week's topic is Laughter!

My law of 7:

Laugh - No one really knows what the heck is going on. Show me someone who has all the answers, and I will show you a fool.

Laugh - Most of the things we are “upset” about, we have no control over. The illusions of control, can indeed trip us up.

Laugh - Many think that they have all the answers to life's big questions (and small ones too), and in fact, they DO NOT!

Laugh - The more complicated we make things, the harder our days. Not sure who “decided” things need to be so darn complicated and we all bought into this "idea.”

Laugh - Slower is always faster, so do laugh when people tell you it is the opposite. Slow down!

Laugh - People continue to tell me “they" say to do this and “they” say to do that, and I ask who are “they”? Who are these “they” people?

Laugh - People who give “advice” from a book they read, or give “advice” from something they “heard” someone say, without the real life experience to back it up - these are the funniest people of them all!

Extra Laugh #8 - Those who think we are not all unique, and deserve to have our own individual opinions, viewpoints, and ideas. These are the ones that keep the comedy going.

My 10 favorite quotes, from one of my favorite comedians - George Carlin:

“The reason I talk to myself is because I’m the only one whose answers I accept.” ― George Carlin

“I do this real moron thing, and it's called thinking. And apparently I'm not a very good American because I like to form my own opinions.” ― George Carlin

“Somewhere in the world is a doctor who is worse than all other doctors...and someone has an appointment with him in the morning.” - George Carlin

“A person of good intelligence and of sensitivity cannot exist in this society very long without having some anger about the inequality - and it's not just a bleeding-heart, knee-jerk, kind of a thing - it is just a normal human reaction to a nonsensical set of values where we have cinnamon flavored dental floss and there are people sleeping in the street.” - George Carlin.

“So I say, 'Live and let live'. That’s my motto.” - George Carlin

“People think life is real complicated. Actually, there's nothing to it. Once you leave out all the bullshit they teach you in school, life gets really simple.” - George Carlin

“The Human Species could have been great but instead we became satisfied with lights on our tennis shoes.” - George Carlin.

“Trying to be happy by accumulating possessions is like trying to satisfy hunger by taping sandwiches all over your body.” - George Carlin

“Just cause you got the monkey off your back doesn't mean the circus has left town.” - George Carlin

“Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist.” - George Carlin

In my last blog post, I wrote about the "desert road." Whatever one may think about their own experience(s) of a desert road, mostly all will agree that they think of being "thirsty," and wanting wate

Many have been on a desert road, are on a desert road now, or will be going on and through a desert road at some point in the future. Some desert roads last longer than others, and how one chooses to

While there are still many individuals "struggling" within the hospitality arena, there are thankfully those who still love their jobs, love being of service, and are able to maintain a balanced work
