Tune Your Guitar
In a blog post I did last December, I mentioned Kirk Cameron's interview with Mike Huckabee on "Takeaways."
Mr. Huckabee mentioned that "leadership is like being a musician. Before one plays a song, one has to tune the instrument. The question one must ask is, what are you tuned to? In music, we play to a fixed standard, that is unchanging and rigid. The 'c note' is always the 'c note'."
One of my favorite podcasts is Sadie Robertson's "WHOA That's Good Podcast." On a recent episode, she had a great conversation with Louie Giglio, who is a leader, pastor, and author. He shares the wisdom of the importance of "tuning your guitar."
As with Mr Huckabee, Mr. Giglio, speaks of "tuning." He shares how the first thing one needs to do is "tune their guitar," and make sure whatever "your thing" is, is operating at the maximum level it can operate at. Don't skip over the details.
They go on to discuss the importance of hard work. Sadie mentions the fact that most things that are worth it, and are good and successful, come from a lot of hard work.
A couple of my favorite Bible verses, each of them makes reference to::
Mr. Giglio shares Psalm 19:
Psalm 19 - "The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands."
Sadie shares Thessalonians 4:11:
1 Thessalonians 4:11 - "Strive to live quietly, to attend to your own affairs, and to work with your hands."
Some great insights they discuss:
God put a billboard in the cosmos, to tell us how big He is!
God is the ultimate scientist.
God has a sense of humor.
Laminin - the "big left hook" for Louie Gigli.
