Creativity And The Arts

Those who read my blog, know that I write a lot about creativity and the arts.

In a previous blog post, I mentioned an interview that Kirk Carmeron did with Matthew West on the show "Takeaways," and in this interview Mr. West so eloquently said that it is “his job as a songwriter to extract the hope from what looks like a hopeless situation.” He makes the point that the world holds up some of the “so called role models and they are lifting up a different message.” Our world is “desperate for hope and is trying to find it in all the wrong places.”

I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, "Sadie Robertson's WHOA That's Good," and she has an amazing episode with Luke and Joel of King & Country - the title is "You Don't Have to Be Who Others Say you Are." (podcast link below)

Like Matthew West, they also talk about the importance of being "hope-filled." As Luke shares, "for creatives, it does take discipline to show up," and it is in creativity that one can see the "modern version of miracles."

They go on to chat about how important it is "to be anchored in who you are," and not to become who "others tell you that you are."

Other topics they chat about include: how computers can only control what you tell it to, and how music can impact the soul. They chat a bit about "monday moments," the importance of commitment and dedication, as well as the importance of a team.

Be sure to check out the interview, as well as King & Country's songs "Together" and "God Only Knows."
